Patto’s Driving School suggest learning the transmission that you’re most comfortable with. If your parents only drive automatic and you don’t have access to a manual car then it might be a good idea to choose automatic driving lessons. On the other hand, if you’ve got access to a manual car you should know that a manual driver’s licence will allow you to legally drive with either transmission.
You need a valid Australian learner’s permit or another valid driver’s licence, your log book and you must be prepared to have fun.
First of all, make sure you know your road rules. Once you know your road rules head on over to a driver licensing and issuing centre and sit a short written exam.
Get your Ls, a car learner permit allows you to drive a car on the road with an experienced driver while you are learning to drive.
The learner permit knowledge test checks that you understand the road rules and your responsibilities as a driver. When you successfully pass the learner permit knowledge test, you can be issued with a learner permit.
